The fundamental purposes of the St. Anthony Educational Foundation (SAEF), a secular public charity, are to encourage and support, through scholarships and grants, the educational and cultural activities of members of St. Anthony Hall. Through its efforts, the Foundation seeks to enhance the development of members� intellects and foster responsible citizenship.

St. Anthony Educational Foundation, Inc., is the national organization's primary source of support for programs and activities that enrich St. Anthony Hall's individual members and chapters from an academic and intellectual standpoint. One of the most prominent ways in which this is done is through grants and scholarships awarded for qualifying projects.

Founded in 1956 through the generosity of Hall alumni, the Foundation became a 501(c)(3) public charity in 1984. The Foundation's endowment, which now stands at almost $4 million, has grown over the years through the contributions and bequests of hundreds of individuals. As its growing endowment has permitted, the Foundation has continually expanded its grant activities to support numerous programs. Foundation directors have disbursed more than $800,000 in grants over the past decade.

Numerous grants have been made to individuals in order to expand their scholarly pursuits, as well as to chapters in order to enrich campus life through lectures and literary and musical presentations. Foundation grants have also sponsored regular workshops and seminars designed to strengthen undergraduates' organizational, public speaking, and leadership skills. The annual fall undergraduate seminar has consistently offered undergraduate officers and graduate organization leaders of St. Anthony Hall the leadership training they need to keep their chapters thriving in an increasingly challenging social climate.
