First Chapter Anti-Racism Project: Sigma Reading List

Friday, July 17, 2020   (0 Comments)

The first in a series of anti-racism reading lists that our Chapters are creating over the summer is Sigma, who have been developing such a syllabus for their active and graduate members to read and engage around. Sigma's list, to start, is:

1) The Wretched of the Earth, Frantz Fanon
2) Are Prisons Obsolete, Angela Davis

A discussion of the titles above will be held soon. These will be followed by:

3) A Report from Occupied Territory, James Baldwin
4) On Being White and Other Lies, James Baldwin
5) Policing the Planet: Why the Policing Crisis Led to Black Lives Matter, Jordan T. Camp & Christina Heatherton

Additionally, Sigma's grad board, the Anthony Trust Association, has joined individual Sigmas in donating to funds supporting the families of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd.

Our chapters have already begun working to strengthen the bonds between Siblings with the introspection through literary endeavors we all sought in joining St. Anthony Hall. Watch for future news articles on other Chapters' lists in coming weeks.
